Hi There

My name is Dr. Cary Yurkiw, DC, founder of True North.

I have worked in over 60 clinics as a locum doctor and consultant.  I started my own practice after doing three years of locum work and grew and managed the practice to include several practitioners and support staff.

I also continued to manage and operate a Health Care Employment agency that I started called Locum Services Inc. which I eventually sold to one of my staff members.

I have seen thousands of patients over my career and I am an expert in the spine and joint health.  I also understand how lifestyle choices can affect our mental and physcial health long term.

I am a runner and have struggled with my weight since I was a child.  Only recently, I found answers to lose over 30 pounds in 100 days.  I wrote about it in my book "100-Day Diet" on Amazon.

I have also run in several half and full marathons.  After a 2 years absence due to Covid, I am on track for a record year, and will hopefully complete 5 half marathons in 2022. (I have done 4 already!)

I am here to help you with your health, athletic and professional goals.  Sign up today by clicking here or going to our events tab to sign up for a free introductory webinar or paid in-depth Masterclass on a topic that may interest you.

About me

I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  It is in the centre of Canada, the Centre of North America really if you look on a map.

My (great) grandparents came from Europe, Ukraine to be exact.  I was raised in a cultural, ethnic and hard-working environment, with faith and values being the most important qualities to our family.  Values like kindness toward others, love, and giving.  They also taught us and lead by example on how to be trustworthy and honest.

Our family and community were very tight-knit.  We knew our neighbours and the families that lived in our neighbourhood.

This carried me forward for the rest of my life.  In school and in my profession, I treated others with respect, worked hard at communicating clearly, and I was ambitious and hard-working.

All of the above experiences helped me to get to where I am today.
